This video offers a detailed look at my processes used while making functional pottery. I often forget how much time goes into making this work, but filming and editing these clips served as a reminder about how long I’ve been trying, failing, playing, struggling, and sometimes succeeding at this thing called ceramics (worlds most addicting hobby) This video covers all the various steps involved with textured clay and slips, using underglazes for stripes and layered abraded pieces, crackle slip and glazing techniques. The beauty of this information being available on video whenever you want, is that you can revisit whenever inspiration strikes. Interested in mixing glazes? I’ve included a few of my most used glazes and slip recipes at the end. Have questions after viewing or want more recipes? Feel free to email or DM with Q’s.
