Clear gloss glaze over crackle slip seals the surface making it 100% functional. Abraded orange and green & violet slips at the rim, violet glaze at the foot well. Flowing directional colors with subtle polka dots… crackle slip as the backdrop.
All of my work that features crackle slip is priced a bit higher than those that don’t… it requires extra steps, and an extra firing. Pricing also depends on time involved with the imagery. They are wheel thrown and may vary in size by a quarter inch.
Food, dishwasher and *microwave safe … Although rare, heating plates in a microwave can result in uneven temperatures and cracking. A quick reheat of 30-60 seconds is typically fine, though I wouldn't recommend using this plate to "cook" food in a microwave.
